Return to Shanghai

The New Harbour service apartments is a tucked away locale just southeast of People's Square, which means walking distance to the famous Nanjing Road.

I like it because it reminds me of the Shanghai I fell in love with 19 years ago when I first arrived.  The hustle and bustle of local people (often dressed in their pyjamas at night), delicious local restaurants serving up pan fried dumplings (jin bao), and soup with home made noodles.  It is located just a block away from the Dashijie subway stop.

The hotel itself is not as excessively glamorous as the many 5 star hotels located throughout the city, but it does offer a small kitchen and living room area where our family can experience a more "at home" feel. Here you can see our MeiMei succumbing to jet lag, and our little Christmas tree from home.
